The school of Physical Education at Guangxi University was established in April 2011, evolving from the Department of Physical Education of Guangxi University. It is responsible for teaching public physical education courses throughout the university, organizing campus recreational sports activities, and managing and training high-level sports teams. The school offers an undergraduate program in sports training and has been authorized to grant master's degrees in public sports management and sports. Currently, it has 239 undergraduate students and 59 graduate students. The faculty consists of 56 full-time teachers, including 3 professors, 17 associate professors, 7 PhDs, and 2 PhD candidates.

Based on the university's "Double First-Class" initiative, the school educational positioning, talent cultivation goals, and the Ministry of Education's "National Standards for Undergraduate Teaching Quality in Ordinary Higher Education Institutions," the school leverages the unique geographical features of Guangxi's development within the ASEAN region and the comprehensive advantages of Guangxi University. It emphasizes joint training with government bodies and adheres to the university's motto of "Diligence, Simplicity, Erudition, and Innovation." The school aims to cultivate sports leaders who meet Guangxi's social needs and possess social responsibility, innovative spirit, practical ability, legal awareness, and international vision.

In recent years, the school's high-level sports teams have produced notable athletes, such as Lan Xingyu (兰星宇), who won the men's rings championshipatthe Gymnastics World CupinDoha, the men's rings championship at the 9th Asian Gymnastics Championships, and the men's rings championship at the 2021 Gymnastics World Championships. Other notable athletes include Feng Junyang (冯君阳), who won the bronze medal at the women's 50-meter breaststroke at the Asian Games, and a cheerleading team that won the runner-up position at the 3rd Asian University Cheerleading Championships. The school has achieved 35 national championships and 22 runner-up positions in national school competitions, significantly contributing to the development of sports and higher education in Guangxi.

The school Conscientiously implements the "health first" guiding principle and has received honors such as the "National Excellent Higher Education Institution Implementing the school of Physical Education Work Regulations," the "National Aerobics Public Exercise Promotion Award," and the "National Advanced Unit for Mass Sports."

Building on its existing achievements, the school of Physical Education at Guangxi University will actively construct research platforms and strengthen faculty development, striving to achieve leapfrog development under the guidance and impetus of the university's effort to build a "Double First-Class" university with Chinese characteristics.
